Julien Dumoulin-Smith Power and Utilities Analyst, Jefferies CNBC
Power prices need to rise.
PJM power pricing was inadequate for long enough that gas plants were not built despite sitting on top of Marcellus and Utica gas, and data centers added demand on top. The emergency auction and largest-ever U.S. power procurement show the power cycle is not over; prices need to rise, so power and capacity tightness should remain supported.
